Short description: AZTERKOSTA is the adaptation for the Autonomous Community of the Basque Country of the European program of Environmental Education on the coast COASTWATCH, a project that saw the light in Ireland at the end of the 80’s and that was established among us in 1992. Since then AZTERKOSTA aspires to be an instrument of help to know better the peculiarities of the coastline, to spread its problems and to increase social awareness of the need to protect coastal natural spaces.

Students of this Master can obtain, optionally through Erasmus+ call, a double degree of Master in Geography together with the specialty Développement durable, Aménagement, Société, Territoire (DAST) of the Master Géographie et Aménagement of the Université de Pau et des Pays de l’Adour (UPPA, Pau, France). To do so, they must take 24 credits at UPPA, validated by optional subjects of the Master’s Degree in Territorial and Environmental Management. This international mobility usually takes place during the second semester.
The different training activities developed in the Master’s program are aimed at reinforcing a series of general competencies that, given the level of training required to access these studies, students should already possess to a large extent. In addition, they will acquire several specific competences that, together with the general ones, will enable them to perform the technical jobs that have already been mentioned.
