As the private university with the highest scientific production in Central America and the recipient of half of the country’s research funds, the Research Institute manages the funds with maximum transparency. For this purpose, it relies on the Administrative Project Management (DAP), which ensures a transparent administration of the funds.
The Center for Environmental and Biodiversity Studies seeks solutions to Guatemala’s environmental problems, with an integral and interdisciplinary approach, under a concept of equity and respect for life. It has two lines of work: Environmental and Biodiversity Research.

Patricia is responsible for coordinating the areas of Strategic Planning, Commercial, Customer Service, Finance, Operations, Systems and Engineering, to serve the more than 18.7 million customers in the region, as well as to maintain the cutting edge in services and technology for the voice and data market in a market with high cellular penetration. She is in charge of more than 4,000 people and reports directly to the General Management of América Móvil.
Marcela has a degree in Marketing from Tecnológico de Monterrey, where she was a professor and has an extensive background in Marketing with experience in distinguished companies such as Danone, Cigatam and Bonafont in Mexico.
Academic background: Graduated from the Universidade Estadual de Campinas in Brazil in Electrical Engineering, with a master’s degree in Digital Signal Processing (DSP) from the University of Neuchatel in Switzerland.
